maha sac - dug into the competition

On Tuesday the 9th September the Macquarie Ancient History Association soccer team showed their skill in the defeat of the International Department’s Cosmonauts. In a combined effort on the part of students and staff the MAHA team stayed ahead the whole game with a final score of 6-8. The team have all improved remarkably in the last few weeks of competition but this week Dr. Ian Plant and Jarrod Temby were the stars of the game, digging into the competition and gaining a quick lead in the first half 5-3. Each team scored a further three goals each in the second half.
Even though the MAHA BCs were significantly outnumbered in terms of subs by the Cosmonauts, we battled on and this success is a testament to the increasing standard of teamwork.
The MAHA BCs is just one example of the constantly increasing involvement of students along side staff in the Macquarie Ancient History Association. Hopefully this involvement will lead to many more MAHA activities and far more successful soccer games in the future.
